Norton Rose Fulbright Canada names Lynne O’Brien new chief people officer

Norton Rose Fulbright Canada has named Lynne O’Brien its new chief people officer.

In the role, O’Brien oversees the firm’s people and development team and progress its talent management strategy. She also manages people functions such as recruitment, talent development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

With over 25 years at our firm, Lynne has established herself as a respected, kind, and engaged mentor in both her litigation practice and leadership roles,” said Jennifer Teskey, Norton Rose Fulbright’s Canadian managing partner, in a LinkedIn post. “The unique combination of Lynne’s legal expertise, consultative leadership style, and people first-approach truly sets her apart.”

O’Brien has been with the firm since January 2007 and is an of counsel focusing on commercial and estates litigation. She has tackled complex litigation as well as restructuring and insolvency for court-appointed officers. She has also taken on financial services litigation and been involved in investigations related to public and private companies and to public organizations.

She has worked with estate trustees, beneficiaries, trustees, and dependents. Companies she has worked with throughout her career include Porter Airlines Inc., SNC-Lavalin Inc., Hexo Corp., Domtar Corp, Sears Canada Inc. and Bondfield Construction Company Limited.

O’Brien is part of the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada, and the Advocates’ Society. She was part of the Norton Rose Fulbright team that played a role in the M&A Deal of the Year at the 2023 Canadian Law Awards. She was admitted to the Ontario bar in 1994 and obtained her degree at Western University.
